Rehearsal week four was a bad week FO' SURE!

Yerr, it was a bit lame.

So we had a rehearsal on Tuesday. Standard rehearsal, no? No. Dan. L didn't turn up for some reason, so we had a rehearsal with no actors.. Because that works well. Like AMAZINGLY well. Haha.

Then there was plans for filming the third vid on Wednesday, but both Will and Pippa got rather sick. (food poisoning =S ) so we ended up cancelling. Though I did have fun adventures buying sparklers. I felt really dodgy too! I had to go to a heap of different stores to buy sparklers cos I didn't want to seem suss! I did end up with 400, or maybe 500. I forget. And before you say OMG WHAT A LOT OF SPARKLERS I HOPE YOU DIDN'T BURN THE HOUSE DOWN!!! We actually did a few different takes. 6 or so.

But first we had fun on Thursday teaching Dan how to walk like Josh. And then rehearsed the fourth and fifth YouTube eps. Cos we're just that cool. True Fax/True Story/It is a story of truth. Tell your friends. Seriously.

So then Friday was SUPER AWESOME! Well sort of. Media release was given to Bauxton -Walker and will be relased this coming week. I think. We have a shiny shiny Mercedes Benze badge. Which I PURCHASED! (I did not nick it off a car. Promise) And then had a lovley meeting with our set/lighting designer. We have an amazingly hot set. And the lighting is equally awesome. At 5:30 we had a producion meeting of amazingness which resulted in a cool sound design.

Then the actors arrived to film. By about 7pm we started filming and it was EPIC. Although Dan. C's dog Wes caused a few problems =S We managed some excellent shots. Sparklers bombs on a Friday night are fun! And there was amazing plot development with Craig getting a girlfriend!! Haha. Basically Pippa wanted more people in the shot, so I got landed with the official role of Craig's girlfriend (After my amazing cameo from last week). Also I had to hold the torch for light so that gave me a reason for being in shot. This'll be a great ep for all you pyros out there. Amazing.
Sadly this ep wont be up till next Friday. A special double release! Are you excited? You should be.

And that was this week. I suppose Friday redeemed the whole week. Lets hope next week is 1000 x better

Rehearsal week three COULDN'T BE!

Hahaha, oh how lame I am.

Yes this week was full of breathers and rests and taking time out to reflect. Or that is to say, one of our actors was in qld, and it's hard to rehearse a two hander with only one actor. Plus everyone else was busy due to god knows what. And there were/are broken phones to contend with, and a lack of communication all round, though I think that was due to the crazy busyness of everyone.

So the third vid will be late, but it's ok as we will be filling all your TPAN needs with the wonderful world of filler eps, and that gorgeous rehearsal two video that I honestly can't upload due to computers/internets that are made of fail. It's ok! Someone else is doing it for me!! Oh the joys of delegation.

So this week will be filled with more exciting things like rehearsals and videos and all that jazz. There will be photos, and exciting things of note. We will hopefully hear about our sponsors soon too, which is rather exciting!

In the meanwhile, enjoy this photo. It has nothing to do with TPAN, but it's hilarious. It's Hitler, with a "Kick me" sign. Who wouldn't love this photo?
(fun fact, I used this picture in a WWII assignment I did back in the day)

Rehearsal week two is THROUGH

I hope you like the rhyming. Though I'm not sure what the end of this week will be =/

Apologies for being an updating Slack Alice, but I've been INSANELY busy =S

Week two was a HUGELY busy week for all involved. We filmed the first ep on Monday (which then aired on Friday). Filmed at the Alexandra Gardens Skate Park, or Riverslide as it is so affectionately known. We decided this was because Dan. L kept sliding down the ramps as if they were a play ground slide. Rather amusing.

Tuesday was a big day of workshopping, and there were some tweaks here and there. We played around with it on the floor and got some vague blocking going on. It also saw us rehearsing the party scene in the show. Some amazing one liners were unearthed.

Wednesday was a fun filled afternoon of filming episode two (which will air THIS Friday). Due to a last minute scheduling issue, actors had to be scrounged from friends and co-workers (I even made a cameo as "Teenage Girl"). Filmed outside Safeway in Prahran, in the rain might I add, with Will (who plays Craig) attempting very hard to skateboard on the foot path without
a: getting in the general public's way, and
b: killing himself due to lack of skateboarding skills.
Most people didn't quite understand that we were filming and thought that we actually WERE a couple of douche bag children filming ourselves being douche bags. I don't know why they didnt realise otherwise =S

On Thursday, Matt decided to fly to QLD and we were left an actor short. Youtube episode 3 went into rehearsal and once again some amazing one liners and random segues. Fireworks is better than tobacco, apparently.
And even if you have a fuse in your fireworks, you should always light it at the point closest to the gun powder.
If your friend gets his face blown off by a firework, scream "AHMYGAHD!" upon seeing him and suggest to call ghostbusters to aid him.
I hope you can guess what episode 3 is about =)

Friday was a production meeting, in which we discovered that we will have to push the filming of Ep. 3 back a week, so there will be a gap in the vidoe release. An amazing filler ep will grace the TPAN4U YouTube Channel, be sure to watch it!

If you notice, there's now a slideshow of all our photos and the vidoes can be accesses right from the blog! There's also a second rehearsal vid to be uploaded, but for some reason my computer hates YouTube =(

There'll be more posting and more rehearsal fun for you next week.

First Post is First

Hey kids,

Welcome to the TPAN (The Play About Nothing) Blog! It's here that you will find pictures and videos of rehearsals, information on the cast and the creative team, plus links to our YouTube series The Show About Nothing.

If you're interested in acting in the show then The Show About Nothing is the best place for you to pick up details on the audience characters. The 11 part show is a character study on the two main characters and the eight audience participation characters. If you've done your maths right you'll notice there's one show left over, that one is reserved for a super special finale episode, so make sure you keep up with each video as it comes out!

Rehearsals start this week, so be sure to check out all the images and details of our first fun filled week! Also, be sure to join the Facebook fan page if you haven't already.
